I‘ll Be a Dragon





This is a picture book I created for last semester's Book Project. It tells the story of a little girl who wants to become a dragon. The book asks: What does it really mean to be a dragon? Is a dragon always the powerful creature we imagine? What does it truly mean to become one? It's a story for children about the challenge of knowing how difficult dreams can be but choosing to pursue them anyway.

Whenever I illustrate a picture book or children's book, I always think of my little sister as my audience—maybe that's why I often tell fairy tales! Sometimes I write complex plots and wonder, 'Would she even understand this?
